At the moment, like many people, I am grappling with which online services I should sever ties with, vs which I still need to hold on to. I guess I’ll probably do a visual diary about it at some point, it feels like it’s brewing… As part of that pondering, I have finally joined Bluesky. After joining threads early (and not clicking with it, for some reason), and joining mastodon (ditto, but mostly due to lack of friends on there), I decided to wait on Bluesky to see a bit more clearly how it’s being used and whether I am likely to find community there.
I still miss Twitter, and the space it offered me to say the stupid things on my mind without anxiety about aesthetics or professionalism, so I have decided to use Bluesky mostly for getting 'back on my bullshit’, so to speak — hoping this one sticks, as Instagram is feeling increasingly devoid of community for me.
